Angela E. DeVito, DVM
Dr. DeVito is a 1986 graduate of Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up in
Bayside, Queens, and moved to Garden City after high school. During college, Dr. DeVito worked as a
veterinary assistant in this very hospital in which she now shares ownership. Dr. DeVito has served on
the Executive Board of the Long Island Veterinary Medical Association and currently sits on the Board of
the IACUC at Adelphi University. An avid birder, she helped establish the Garden City Bird Sanctuary in
1995. Dr. DeVito’s special interests include pocket-pet medicine and geriatric issues, and she likes to
speak to children’s groups about veterinary medicine. Dr. DeVito lives with her husband and son still in
Garden City, and spends much of her off-time as a parent sitting in the stands at ice and roller hockey
rinks.
Janice Goldberg, DVM
Dr. Goldberg graduated veterinary school from Ross University and has been practicing in Queens and
Long Island since graduation. She joined the West Hempstead staff full-time in 2005 after working with
Dr. DeVito’s partners Dr. Halpern and Dr. Mehlrose for several years. Dr. Goldberg has special interests
in dermatology and animal behavior. She also likes to indulge her interests in “Anime” and hand-made
things at conventions and crafts fairs in the Metropolitan area. She lives in Queens with various assorted
pets.
Aisha Nielsen
Aisha Nielsen is a native of Long Island. She joined the West Hempstead staff as a receptionist in 2004,
and was promoted to the job of Office Manager in 2007. She still maintains a position at Williams-
Sonoma, where she can indulge her love of cooking and of kitchen gadgetry.
